Oh, goody!!! Here we go again.

F2P:

Free two prisoners
Fractals to pour
Family to Puree
Fatcat to Purr
Farmers to Plow
Fantasies to Pursue
Fangs to Protect...

I love F2P!!! Just like DDO!

Dumb Dorfs Online... (np, I know what DDO is... LOL)

So where is the revenue to keep these games running coming from? In game adds, or paid for "extra" conent?

In paid for extra content. I believe you have access to the main story line, but a lot of the fat gets trimmed if you don't pay for it.

heheh. I decided to go look on the Lotro site. Yep, free.. but if you want "extras" you can pay through a new store... or if you have an existing subscription on your paying account (the Free one is a separate thing) you get some points each month to spend in the Free game store. LOL..

yeah, right.

Pretty much the sub model has everything available to you, but the free model you have to pay for certain content (dungeons etc), as well as the ability to buy minor (see non-game changing) gear etc..looks interesting..
